Premier Truck Rental Showcases Three Innovative Custom-Built Fleet Solutions

FORT WAYNE, Ind. – Premier Truck Rental (PTR), a nationwide custom truck, trailer and equipment provider, continues to solve complex fleet challenges through tailored rental solutions designed around customer needs and jobsite demands.

Led by its DRIVE core values, PTR has embraced an "If you can dream it, we can build it" mindset to solving customer challenges. That commitment was evident in the company's flagship Candy Wagon Framer and remains a driving force behind its custom builds today.

Over the last five years, Premier Truck Rental has introduced three custom-built units for specialized utility projects. Each build was a result of close collaboration between customers, sales, operations and PTR’s in-house team of technicians.

From concept to completion, each custom truck provided a unique solution to a customer problem. The custom builds include:

• Candy Wagon Framer Lite
• Open Service Body Framer
• Custom Open Service Body for Utilities

Candy Wagon Framer Lite

Also known as the contractor truck, PTR’s Framer Lite is an evolution of the Candy Wagon Framer, featuring several modifications to support customer needs. Like the original Framer, it offers an 18,500lb maximum towing capacity, a 19,500lb GVWR, 3,200lb payload capacity and an 11-foot bed. While built on the same platform as the Candy Wagon Framer, the Framer Lite features a streamlined configuration tailored to the customer’s application. Key differences include:

• Mid-length overhead rack in place of the full-size overhead rack
• No front bumper
• No hydraulic winch
• No capstan

Open Service Body Framer

Designed specifically for substation work, the Open Service Body Framer balances maneuverability and functionality, giving utility crews the tools and storage needed to operate efficiently in confined work areas. Built from proven Framer components and tailored to a specialized application, the unit offers:

• DP winch for reliable pulling power
• Partial overhead rack for added storage
• Exterior drawers for equipment organization

Custom Open Service Body for Utilities

Originally developed as a specialized solution, the Custom Open Service Body for Utilities demonstrated how custom fleet design can also support scalability. Delivered in a fraction of the time required for a traditional build, the unit features an upgraded body, enhanced lighting system and several crew-focused upfits, including:

• Custom Cooler Storage
• Overhead Ladder Racks
• Multiple Custom Storage Cabinets

The Lutheran Foundation Breaks Ground on New Headquarters at Concordia Theological Seminary
FORT WAYNE, Ind. — The Lutheran Foundation, in partnership with CME Construction and Design Collaborative, will celebrate the groundbreaking of its new headquarters on Thursday, June 25, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. on the campus of Concordia Theological Seminary in Fort Wayne. The ceremony will take place at the future building site located at 6600 North Clinton Street.

The new 8,500-square-foot facility will provide a dedicated home for The Lutheran Foundation's staff and executive offices while creating a welcoming environment for collaboration, meetings, and community engagement. Designed to support the Foundation's mission and future growth, the building will include a boardroom, conference room, and a large multipurpose room for events, programming, and community-focused initiatives.

Located on the campus of Concordia Theological Seminary, the new headquarters reflects The Lutheran Foundation's longstanding commitment to serving Lutheran ministries and strengthening Christ centered communities throughout northeast Indiana.

Design Collaborative is providing architectural and design services for the project, while CME Construction will serve as construction manager.

"The Lutheran Foundation has long been a distinguished leader for positive impact throughout our region, and it is a privilege for CME Construction to help deliver a facility that reflects that legacy," said Ryan D. Hellinger, President of CME Construction.

Construction is expected to begin following the groundbreaking ceremony, marking an important milestone in the Foundation's continued investment in its mission and the communities it serves.

CME Construction Announces Second Sonic Drive-In Project in Northeast Indiana

FORT WAYNE, Ind. — CME Construction is proud to announce the development of a second Sonic Drive-In location in northeast Indiana, continuing the brand’s expansion in the Fort Wayne market. The new restaurant will be at 4615 Bass Road near the Fort Wayne Soccer Stadium.

The project represents continued commercial growth in one of Fort Wayne’s rapidly developing areas and reflects ongoing investment in dining and entertainment amenities for residents and visitors alike.

CME Construction will serve as the design-builder for the project, which is scheduled for completion in fall 2026. The restaurant will bring Sonic’s signature drive-in experience to the southwest Fort Wayne community, adding another convenient dining option near one of the region’s newest destinations for sports and recreation.
