The Supervisor Safety Award has always been a highlight in BCA’s annual Safety Excellence Awards program. Supervisors are too often the unsung heroes in a contractor’s loss prevention program while maintaining production and quality goals.

Paul excels at anticipating potential hazards and enthusiastically collaborates with his peers and Safety Director to ensure each hazard is mitigated before anyone is exposed. Jason recently stopped work when he noticed a potentially hazardous condition with flooring mastic.”

“Robert is continually the first to encounter a problem on the job site. He is willing to help subs find a solution instead of punishing them for not complying. When a new solution is presented, Robert goes all-in, educating himself and his foreman to ensure everyone involved knows how to implement the new system correctly. In addition, Robert continually exemplifies the Weigand safety culture through his actions and leadership on the job site.”

“Brandon Mitchell goes above and beyond the call of duty as a safety mined supervisor.  He always asks when he needs help and is a true leader in the safety of his crew.  He excels in an environment that includes weekly shutdowns and high-risk activities and conditions. He can both keep the customer happy and the workers safe.   He handles everything from large crane picks, working on pressurized systems, confined space work, and chemical processes.  We appreciate having him on our team and consider him one of our best!”
